Cold ham is a tasty yet useful menu item. It's easy to get ready it the day before with a extra glaze, such as ginger, maple syrup or cranberry sauce. A glazed ham will right on have the wow factor and best of all, you won't have to do anything with it except serve it on Christmas Day.

A primary menu might look like this:

Even if you're having a primary dinner, you may like to swap the pudding for something lighter, such as chocolate mousse, pavlova, or tiramisu. All these desserts are extra sufficient to enjoy on the big day.

One way to stop this happening is to limit the number of appetisers available until afterwards. Then you won't feel that your guests were too full to appreciate all your hard work in the kitchen!

If you're lucky, your guests may give you a wine gift. This can come in handy in case you run out of wine while you're spirited them! Sometimes it can be difficult to work out how much alcohol you'll need: some people may drink more than others, while some guests will limit themselves to one glass of wine.

It's a good idea to cater for people who don't drink alcohol - a non-alcoholic fruit punch may even tempt the drinkers!

If you give yourself plentifulness of time to plan the menu for your festive lunch or dinner, then you'll find that it won't be so stressful to cater for your friends and house on the big day.

Broiled chicken drumsticks are a good snack food, too. I keep chicken drumsticks and chicken salad in my refrigerator at all times. It is an easy bedtime snack, too.

A quick and easy way to make chicken salad is to buy quantities of cooked and diced chicken breast from a Sysco store, provider of institutional kitchens, and keep it frozen until you need it. It is more expensive than cooking the chicken yourself, but so much easier. And the neat part about it is having a satisfying protein cooked and handy at all times so you don't snack on the usual high carb snacks that keep us from losing weight.

Here is a method for home-made blender mayonnaise to use in your chicken salad. It has none of the "bad" oils you usually find in commercial mayonnaise.

Place in blender:

1 egg

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 cup Fillipo Berio quarterly olive oil, not virgin or extra virgin (too strong flavor)

1-1/2 Tbsp. Vinegar or lemon juice

1 Tbsp. Boiling water

Place the egg, salt, mustard, and 1/4 cup olive oil in electric blender. Turn on the motor and add the remaining 3/4 cup oil in a slow thin stream. Add the vinegar or lemon juice and the water. Taste, precise the seasoning and refrigerate until needed.

Easy Quinoa breakfast Recipes

Easy Quinoa breakfast Recipes

There are abundance of easy quinoa morning meal recipes that you can find online but I'll only share 3 of my favorites. Quinoa is so versatile that you can practically add anything to it without overpowering the other ingredients.

One of my favorite morning meal recipes is the nutty cinnamon quinoa recipe. You will need a cup of low fat milk or skim milk, a cup of water, a cup of quinoa (well-rinsed), 2 cups fresh blueberries or strawberries, ½ teaspoon finely ground cinnamon, 1/3 cup chopped pecans (or any nut that you prefer) and 4 teaspoons organic nectar.

Simple Salad Recipes

This is so easy to make, all you have to do is boil the milk, water and quinoa in a saucepan over high heat and then reduce the heat to medium-low, cover and simmer for 15 minutes or until most the liquid is absorbed. Turn off the heat and set it aside for 5 minutes while covered. Mix in cinnamon and blueberries and top with the chopped nuts. Drizzle with nectar and serve.

Another easy quinoa morning meal recipe that I like is the hot quinoa morning meal cereal. You will only need a cup of cooked quinoa, thinly sliced apples, seedless raisins, dash of cinnamon, milk and honey. Mix all the dry ingredients together and serve with milk. You can add honey or low-calorie sugar to taste.

The last easy quinoa morning meal recipe that I found is the peanut butter quinoa recipe. For the ingredients, you need a cup of quinoa, 2 to 3 tablespoons of butter, 2 cinnamon sticks, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 cup of milk, roasted pecans, raisins or dried cranberries and any fruits of your option (bananas, strawberries, peaches).

Boil the quinoa with milk, sugar, cinnamon sticks and peanut butter. reduce the heat to low until the milk is absorbed. Set it aside and cover it for 5 minutes. Add all the ingredients and serve. Now that's easy right?

Most of the vegetable salads we know today are composed of a customary ingredient called lettuce. Now, don't get me wrong, lettuce is a very healthy thing to eat, however, its downside is that it verily doesn't have much of an impact when regards to taste. That's why we include all those extras in our salads to improve its flavor. Fruits can verily achieve this, but most of the time, we add in a little bit sin to the meal.

Summer Salad Recipes

These are the ingredients that make the salad not so healthy and if you'll like to have an actual example, then take a look at any local salad bar. Another part of salad we cannot do without are dressings. Generally, dressings are unhealthy, so the many way around the use of dressings is to measure just enough of them before you begin eating the salad. Nowadays, this is already a very preeminent selection seen on groceries, with most of our beloved flavors already having its low fat counterpart.

The downside to all these is that low fat dressings doesn't verily taste the same as their customary counterparts. This will probably make you use more of them, which is a downside to cost savings. For this problem, here's a inherent solution. Instead of spreading the dressing evenly across the salad before you eat, try putting it in a small cup. Use the dressing as a dip for your salad, taking in only a few portions just to add taste to the vegetables. This way, you can monitor well your calorie intake and see more develop in your condition efforts.

To sum it up, in order for a salad to come to be verily healthy, you must pay attention to the ingredients you put in it. I know it takes a bit of self operate but hopefully with these little tips, you can still enjoy eating your beloved salads without much toll on its taste.

Chicken Salad

Place chicken breasts, carrots, one stalk of celery, 1 clove garlic or sprinkle of garlic powder, and onion in stock pot. Cover with water and simmer until chicken is thoroughly cooked. Take out chicken breasts and place them in a large bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. When breasts have cooled, take the skin off the meat and de-bone.

The cooking recipe of simmering in a pot with vegetables not only gives great flavor to the chicken and keeps it very moist, but it also gives the added bonus of the water the chicken was cooked in, which of policy has been transformed into chicken broth! Strain it and use it to make chicken soup or stew. For a low-fat alternative, after straining refrigerate overnight. Any fat in the broth will solidify on the top and can be skimmed off before use.

To cut the fat even further, use mayonnaise made with olive oil. It has less calories, less fat, tastes great, and olive oil has been proven to help cut cholesterol.

For bright variations on the basic recipe, use turkey or ham instead of chicken. Cashews or pecans could be substituted for walnuts. You could also add two diced hard boiled eggs to the salad to make it even tastier.
